How To: Use the "NEAR" Boolean Operator

Use of the "NEAR" Boolean operator:



In this example, we are trying to find the term ‘Murder’ occurring NEAR ‘Knife’



By default, the "NEAR" operator finds two terms withing 10 words of each other. This proximity can further be increased or decreased by clicking on "Advanced Search Options" and changing the word range in the dropdown that appears.



The result screen now displays the documents related to your search with greater accuracy and requires lesser manual sorting.
